The Hon Minister of Innovation Science and Technology, Chief Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, a popular politician from Enugu State has recently come under attack by the Premium times news magazine and some media urchins, spreading fake and unfounded news about certificate forgery against the Minister, recycling lies about Hon. Uche Nnaji’s UNN degree, which was confirmed legit by the registrar in 2023.
Hon. Uche Nnaji who has become the new face of Enugu and admired nationwide due to his outstanding achievements as a minister is now a big threat to the governor of Enugu State as 2027 governorship elections approaches.
There is nothing is more difficult than marketing or defending a leader against whom popular opinions count.
Enugu cannot be muscled or dwarfed under one man who gives by the right hand and takes twice as much by the left. Not now, really not now. The odds are high against him and he appears to have come, not too early but too late to the experimentation of regime governance.
The popularity of the governor has since dwindled due to his anti-people policies and untold hardship he has brought to the people of Enugu through incessant taxations. He was widely accused of certificate forgery and racketeering by the NYSC Director during the 2023 election, same allegation he is using to score some cheap political points by accusing the minister of same crime he was accused of.
It is quite a pity that the Vice Chancellor of University of Nigeria Nsukka and the Institution is now a political tool for spreading misinformation against the Honorable Minister Chief Geoffrey Uche Nnaji.
