Today in New York, at the Unstoppable Africa Forum / ClimateWorks Foundation & OPSWF Network High-Level Session, the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, presented a powerful keynote on Driving Investment into Clean Energy Projects in Africa .
Speaking to global investors, sovereign wealth funds, and development finance leaders, the Honourable Minister highlighted Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR — placing clean energy transition at the heart of Nigeria’s development plan.
Nigeria’s Flagship Projects Showcased:
Hydrogen & Methanol Industrial Complex – Akwa Ibom: A multi-billion Euro investment to make Nigeria a continental hub for hydrogen production. Renewed Hope Solarization Project: Starting with the just-commissioned 7MW solar power plant at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, scaling nationwide to power every federal university & teaching hospital. Sustainable Energy Access Programme (SEAP): Cutting Nigeria’s 90% reliance on firewood & charcoal, deploying clean cooking and bioenergy solutions. Data & Critical Minerals for the Future: Launching 4 new high-resolution satellites + the 30% Value Addition Bill — ensuring no critical mineral leaves Nigeria without local processing.
“Africa holds some of the world’s richest renewable resources. What we need is not just ambition, but investment. Nigeria stands ready to partner with you to deliver projects that are bankable, impactful, and globally competitive,” Chief Nnaji told the gathering.
