The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Enugu State faithful has been drawn to an unauthorized invitation circulating under the name of Mr Ben Nwoye and a few others, purporting to convene a so-called “APC Enugu East Senatorial District Stakeholders Meeting” with the agenda of endorsing the defection of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State to become the APC gubernatorial candidate in 2027.
We categorically state that this invitation and its agenda are anti-party, unconstitutional, and null and void. No group or individual has the authority to unilaterally endorse candidates, impose aspirants, or mortgage the future of APC in Enugu State outside the structures of the party.
The APC is a disciplined national party built on fairness, internal democracy, and loyalty to its constitution. The actions of Dr. Nwoye and his co-travelers amount to a desperate attempt to destabilize our party and sow confusion among members. We strongly disassociate genuine APC stakeholders from this ill-conceived plot, which does not represent the official position of the APC leadership at the ward, local government, state, or national level.
We reaffirm our total loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, our national leadership, and the duly recognized APC Enugu State leadership under Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah. The party remains united in supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening APC structures in Enugu State, not in promoting opportunistic alliances that undermine our progress.
We call on all APC members to disregard the so-called meeting and remain steadfast. The APC in Enugu will not be hijacked by anti-party elements. Our focus is clear: building a stronger, united, and winning party in 2027 through due process, not shortcuts.
