Some Campaign point of this administration includes:
1. Refurbishing of the International Conference Center (ICC)
2. Refurbishing of Hotel Presidential
3. Refurbishing of Nike Lake Resort Hotel
4. Building of Smart Schools
5. Demolition of markets to build parks
With a closer observation, one could see clearly that our future has been mortgaged, no wonder the mantra “TOMORROW IS HERE” cos we have no tomorrow left.
This administration never started any of these projects and the state funds have been used to build and run them but today former Protea Hotel now Landmark Hotel, ICC, and the Hotel Presidential recently refurbished are now privatized and mortgaged for the next 30years. What this means is that the proceeds of these projects will be going into one pocket for the next 3 decades after a shabby bloated refurbishing contract.
The recent saga of smart school contract scam is still fresh in our minds. The collapsing and reconstruction of so many of these schools shows how wasteful this administration is despite having bloated the contract in the first place. Affordable Government schools were demolished to build this unaffordable smart schools. What is the fate of the lower class whose schools were demolished and cannot afford the so called smart schools. Our tomorrow is gone!
Ogige and Ogbete market traders were rendered useless when this government demolished their hard earned shops to construct private parks and private filling stations with no compensation whatsoever paid to the displaced traders. Today nobody is allowed to use the parks except the privatized transport company. Shops were built there and placed at exorbitant prices that no trader can afford. How could this government be so cruel to its citizens?
Alex Otti of Abia State is currently rebuilding ariaria market section by section with multistory plazas, compensating the displaced traders to sustain them while the plazas are constructed and eventually resettling them with shops at a high discounted rate. What have we done to the government of Enugu State?????????????
Villagers are not left out, shops in the remote villages were locked and heavy tax and Eswama bills extorted from them. Where are the eswama buckets and trucks in the village to justify the services they’re being taxed for? Palm wine tappers and vegetable sellers in the villages are not left out. Is the government not supposed to encourage these peasants with free interest free grants? Our tomorrow is gone.
Enugu State cannot be a Private Company else we are doomed. The only option left is for the masses to use their PVCs and speak very loud in 2027. We cannot allow this calamity to continue elsewhere our future will finish in the next four years of this administration.
